Trying hard to remember

20 Jun

Have you ever had a really really really good idea or train of thought that was just so profound and then you forget about what you were thinking about later on in the day? Well if you are like me then that frustrates the hell out of you.  Well as I continue to live this life of scattered thoughts and random epiphanies, I think it is time for me to invest in a thought saver/personal voice recorder. It’s time. Too many good thougthts, too many good lyrics, to many profound things that are being missed.  We shall see how this goes….

Oh, I have these moments all the time. They always come about 30 mins into bedtime, when I finally have let my brain relax enough…but am not quite asleep. I have a voice recorder, but it’s to hard to work in the dark often times and I can’t talk the idea out fast enough…or as I try and talk it out, it dosen’t come out the same way I am thinking it. So I got a good old fashioned Moleskine notebook, pen and a booklight by the bed, in my purse, on my desk, wherever else I land. They are great little blank notebooks ( I get the packs of three at Barnes and noble)… the problem often is finding which one exactly has that great idea in it and keeping them out of my children’s hands…they like nothing more than to draw wonderful murals all over the pages. Alex suggested we drop in for a visit. I like your site. Amie

I know exactly what you mean. I am usually really good at writing things down or at least I use to be. Thanks for stopping by.

I’m an aspiring writer, and I understand precisely both how exciting it feels to get that kind of idea (for me, a plot twist or character development) and how frustrating it is not to be able to store it somewhere. My mentor of sorts has encouraged me on multiple occasions to get a voice recorder…turns out there are affordable options out there. Whatever your method is, hope those thoughts keep coming!
